Really, what I want to post about this week is accents - as you all know we shot a scene from Pissheads a few weeks back (dosh courtesy of NFM - thanks)... well a very select few people have viewed the scene recently and there has been a few comments about the guys' accents being difficult to understand. I guess this is understandable (unlike the accents) because they are all speaking in their own very broad Geordie accents - what has caught me slightly off guard however is not that some people find the accent unintelligible, rather who those someones are... ie people who have grown up in the North East of England and are surrounded by Geordie accents every day! We always knew foreigners (including Soft Southern Shandy Drinking Jessies) would struggle with the accent - it just never occurred to me that people from up here may struggle too!
I guess it would be great if you could comment on this entry if you could understand the promo - here in case you haven't seen it and/ or the out-takes - here and here. If you would be so kind as to comply with this request we would be most grateful.
Cheers
